spoke his truth when he mowed "No War" between his family's fields of vegetables. Mark comments, "Lies make the soul sick, particularly lies about war. This terrestrial crop circle was my way of striking a blow for freedom and healing myself. A local pilot flew me over my farm so I could take the photograph."
The photograph was passed from one friend to another, eventually finding its way to Karen Kerney, art director for the Syracuse Cultural Workers. Karen took the farmer’s message and created a global design for peace. Says Karen, "What struck me about the photo was its combination of beauty, simplicity, and that distinctly American tradition of speaking out."
Karen and Mark have given us a global message of peace that is easily shared.
